Flyers & Phantoms 9th Annual Coaching Symposium

For the first time in the nine-year history of the event all seven coaches were present for the annual Philadelphia Flyers and Philadelphia Phantoms Coaching Symposium.

The clinic took place at the Sovereign Bank Flyers Skate Zone in Voorhees and 150 Philadelphia area coaches, accredited USA Hockey, part took in the event.

Flyers coaches-Ken Hitchcock, Wayne Fleming, Terry Murray and Jim McCrossin and Phantoms-John Stevens, Kjell Samuelsson and Craig Berube "presented first class sessions for our area coaches," said Flyers Fan Development Manager Rob Baer, who played in the area for Wissahickon Skating Club, Archbishop Carroll and West Chester University hockey teams. "These coaching clinics are very well presented by our coaches and it is beginning to show as more and more of our youth hockey players are making their way onto college and pro hockey teams."

Colleen Marinari, USA Hockey Administrative Director of the Atlantic District and president of the Delaware Valley Hockey League, oversaw the event and was impressed with the quality of the presentations.
