Flyer Charter Members Celebrate Opening Of Camp


Charter members of the Philadelphia Flyers--Keith Allen and Joe Kadlec usher in the team's 37th training camp along with Bob Kelly (left) and Travis Howe.

Allen was the team's first coach and general manager of the two Stanley Cup teams nad now serves as executive vice president. Kadlec was the club's first publicity director and traveling secretary and now the club's Fan Services Director.

Kelly scored the last Flyers Stanley Cup winning goal in Buffalo in 1975. Flyers Alumni president Dave Schultz calls Kelly the "heavyweight champion of the Flyers and tops in pure toughness."

Howe, grandson of Gordie Howe and son of Mark, is an an invited intern coach, , invited to learn about the program, of the 03-04 United States 17 and under hockey team and also serves as Hockey Director of the Skate Zone in Voorhees, NJ
