St. Joseph’s Prep president Fr. William Byron addressed the hockey team before its game against Germantown Academy on January 12 at Ice Works in Aston, Pa.
Coached Ed Austin’s AA squad skated to a 2-l victory over GA, a power house club from the Delaware Valley area. Afterward, Fr. Byron was able to congratulate the Hawks. This is the third year of the program.
In the last game before the Christmas break, St. Joe’s played three games on Dec 22. They turned in three victories-AAA a 3-l score over Archbishop Ryan; A a 4-3 decision over Chichester and the JV turn in a 4-1 result against Ridley.
“This says a lot about our program,” said Austin. “We have been working real hard in practice and games. It is showing a lot of results. We are playing good hockey.”
