Former Flyers named to Elk River Hall Of Fame

Elk River Hall of Fame adds 10 luminaries from 1930's through 90's

Joel Otto was a Stanley Cup-winning pro hockey player, Kara Hermanson Selmela was a two-time national biathlon champion, and Rick Steblay and Mike Toth both helped their college teams win national hockey crowns.

They are among eight athletes who distinguished themselves in their hometown and beyond and will be inducted into the Elk River High School Sports Hall of Fame on Sept. 29 along with Elk coaching luminaries Terry Mclean and Wally Trochlil.

Also selected for induction were Cliff Wakefield, Lyle Hanks, Bob Cornelius, and Jayne Eull Barrett, all-around standouts of the 1930's, 1940's, 1960's and 1970's, respectively.
