Bill Connors' Teamwork

Coach Had Close Shave After 7th LBCSHL Cup

Coach Bill Connors made a promise to his Father Judge Crusaders hockey team that if they won the Lower Bucks County Scholastic Hockey League championship they could shave his head.

Well, Connors won his seventh LBCSHL title.

"We were not playing real well midway through the season and the kids were not believing in themselves," stated Connors, who has been the head coach for Fr. Judge the last 21 seasons. "So, I told them if they won the championship they could shave my head.

"Well they started playing real well with about five games in the season and goalie Mike Skelton played the last three games of the regular season and first game of the playoffs. Bob (Stewart) had been hurt and came back strong."

So Connors made a date to meet the players at Fr. Judge High School where they shaved his silver fox head of hair.

"This was sweet," summed up Connors. Hats off for a job well done.
